OHS Band Patron Program
The OHS Band Boosters are happy to announce the return of the Band Patrons Program for the 2022-23 school year.
The Patrons Program ran from the beginning of the school year and ended on Oct. 14th, 2022.
We invited all local businesses and band families to become patrons of our amazing bands and support us in our mission to raise funds to purchase new uniforms for the entire marching band.
In years past, we were able to use funds raised through the patron program to purchase new quints for the drumline, a 32’ trailer to transport marching band equipment to competitions, an electric golf cart to assist in moving props for our marching band shows, additional concert band uniforms, music folders for upper class bands and a copier for the band room. We have also used these funds to pay clinician fees for the concert, jazz and marching bands as well as providing four college scholarships to deserving graduating seniors.
Our goal for the 2022-23 school year is to purchase new uniforms for the marching band. The average life expectancy of a marching band uniform is eight years. The uniforms currently being used by our students are 17 years old and require a lot of repairs and maintenance each year. Many have become almost unusable and over the years we have been able to purchase some replacement pieces, but new uniforms for all students are desperately needed.
This year our local businesses and band families really STEPPED IT UP!
