The last few weeks have certainly been exciting for several District 308 music ensembles. Over their spring breaks, Oswego East and Oswego High Schools took their programs to Orlando, performing and competing at several venues in and around DisneyWorld, and even recording the soundtracks to some Disney movies. On Sunday April 10th, the Traughber Eighth Grade Band has the rare opportunity to play at Orchestra Hall in downtown Chicago. They will be sharing the stage with Burlington Central High School from here in Illinois, and California State University from Northridge, California. Tickets can be purchased from the Chicago Symphony Orchestra by clicking this link. And to finish out the week, both the Thompson 8th Grade band and the Oswego High School Wind Symphony were selected via audition to play at the University of Illinois' Superstate Concert Band Festival, where they will play alongside the other best concert bands in our state. Thompson will play on Friday May 6th, and OHS on Saturday May 7th. The performances will be live-streamed at www.banddirector.com.
