As you know the OHS Band Boosters are hosting the Inaugural Bandcake Breakfast Fundraiser on Saturday February 21, 2015, 7:00 - 11:00 am in the OHS Cafeteria. We have heard of some misconceptions regarding this fund raiser that we would like to resolve. All proceeds will be going into the general fund to support ALL of our band programs. This is not a fundraiser for a specific band or a specific trip. Our goal with this fundraiser is to have money to pay for the upkeep on concert and marching uniforms, the music played at concerts, clinicians, and much more. We also keep a supply of instruments that are available for students that need specialty instruments, for students that cannot afford instruments, and for students whose instruments are being repaired. All band students will benefit from funds raised at the breakfast. Each ticket costs $5.00 and kids under 5 eat for free. We will be serving all you can eat pancakes, sausage, orange juice & coffee. A ticket order form is attached and can be turned into Mrs. San Roman or Mr. Schoenbach. Tickets will be available at the door; however, we’d like as many ticket order forms as possible turned in by Wednesday, February 11. For your entertainment, there will be students from all bands playing throughout the breakfast. Don’t miss your student and their friends performing. The success of this fundraiser depends on our entire band family. We hope all of you will come and enjoy a delicious breakfast, listen to some amazing musicians, and support OHS Bands!
Today, '13 alumnus Dougan Smith and his Devil's Horn Sax Quartet from University of Wisconsin/Eau Claire played and gave a presentation for several of the bands. These guys rock...like them on Facebook!
Senior French horn player Scott Eriksen and oboe player Brianna Bradley were recently chosen to play in the Music For All National Concert Band Festival Honor Band. They, along with junior percussionist John Watson, were also selected to the All-State Band here in Illinois.
