Concert Band Rhythm Assignment
Due and to be performed Wed., Sept. 14th
Directions:
-Compose 4 measures of rhythm using eighth notes/rests, sixteenth notes/rests and dotted eighth notes/rests only
-Write out the counts beneath the notes using the “1 e + a” system
-Perform your rhythm on a note of your choice
Additional Requirements:
-Only one measure can contain all rests
-Each measure must be different
-Put parenthesis around counts belonging to tied notes
-You may use rhythms out of your band music as long as they are eighth, dotted eighth, and/or sixteenth notes/rests
Extra Credit:
-Write your rhythms and perform your composition using different notes
-Write/perform very difficult rhythms including the correct counts
