Band-O-Rama helps Oswego get Funkadelic!!!
On Saturday, September 25th, the OHS Marching Panthers hosted Chicago’s premiere funk band, the Manhattan Project, in an event that we hope will happen every year, Band-O-Rama. The students opened the show by performing their halftime show, the Music of Stevie Wonder, and then were treated to a set of high energy funk by the guest band. The above video was the closer, which had the marching band joining forces with the Manhattan Project to help make the auditorium the loudest and funkiest it has ever been. Enjoy the video!!!!!

Ryan Zerna opens for Muti!!!

Outstanding senior floutist Ryan Zerna and the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra had a rare opportunity on Sunday, September 19th. They played a short concert as a warm-up act, prior to the debut of Ricardo Muti as director of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. The free concert at the incredible Pritzker Pavilion in Milennium Park was packed to see the beginning of a new ear in music for Chicago. Ryan had this to say about the performance:
“Being onstage to open for Ricardo Muti’s inaugural performance with the CSO was one a my favorite experiences in music. We played for an audience of around 15,000…it was amazing to think that we opened for the world’s finest orchestra, and the CSO was, needless to say, INCREDIBLE!!!!”

This past summer, both Ms. Silosky and Mr. Schoenbach both received their Master’s degrees from VanderCook CollegeĀ of Music, though because his name was first in the alphabet, Mr. Schoenbach technically received his first.
